Even at this young age, David sensed something wasn't right about Davis, describing the encounter as meeting "the devil himself."

The most disturbing chapter of David's story unfolds when he recounts his trafficking experience. In January 2012, when his mother was battling stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, David was approached by individuals named James and Shiloh Artville (Art Ville) who offered support. Instead, according to David and corroborated by police reports, James Artville (Art Ville) kidnapped him and transported him to Des Moines, Washington, where he was held captive for two and a half weeks. During this captivity, David endured horrific conditions, including being kept in a cage with reptiles and subjected to physical and sexual abuse.

Perhaps one of the most disturbing aspects of David's ordeal was being forced to answer to the name "Cody," a psychological manipulation technique employed by his captors. David speculates that Cody might have been another victim named Cody Wallace-Bast who remains missing. This forced identity issue later became ammunition for those attempting to discredit David's story, with Bryan Davis allegedly spreading false information claiming David is actually someone named Cody.

The podcast presents compelling evidence supporting David's account, including police reports, a Greyhound bus ticket purchased with his kidnapper's email, and documentation regarding unauthorized changes to his Social Security information. Particularly damning is evidence linking Bryan Davis's phone number to both the Social Security changes and unauthorized access to David's wife's bank account, suggesting an orchestrated campaign to undermine David's credibility and identity.

David's story reflects the complex challenges faced by trafficking survivors – not only must they heal from their initial trauma, but they often face disbelief, character assassination, and continued harassment when they come forward.
